第二课时 Phonetics review

(Vowels: Chant 1 and Chant 2)

1.教学内容

本课时包括Phonetics review (Vowels: Chant 1 and Chant 2)部分,具体训练内容为:元音/i:/ /i/,辅音:/p/ /k/ /t/ /d/ /b/ /g/

2.教学重点、难点

教学重点:上述音标的准确发音;

教学难点:元音/i:/ /i/的区分。

3. 教学目标

知识目标: 通过模仿、辨别进一步熟悉音标中元音/i:/ /i/,辅音:/p/ /k/ /t/ /d/ /b/ /g/的正确发音;

能力目标: 正确跟读上述音标及相关歌谣、单词。

4. 教学步骤

 

Step I  Introduction

Make a brief introduction about the vowels /i:/ /i/ /e/ /?/ and consonants /p/ /k/ /t/ /d/ /b/ /g/ that will appear in following two classes.

Step II  Practice on Vowels: /i:/

Chant 1  What do we eat?

Activity 8

1. Try to pronouce. Ss read aloud the words given: peas, beef, meat, cheese and beans.

2. Repeat and choose. Ss match the words with proper pictures, then check with each other.

3. Listen and check. The teacher checks the Ss’pronunciation of the above words.

4. The teacher briefly summarizes the letter groups that pronouce /i:/, such as –ee, -ea.

(设计意图:可采用头脑风暴的形式,让学生先自己尽量多列举,可复习已学词汇,且音形结合。)

Activity 9

1. Listen to a chant. (individual work)

2. Find and underline. Ss try to find out those words which contain the pronunciation /i:/ in this chant, and underline them.

*3. Read and recite. Ss read aloud the chant and try to recite it in 1 minute.( only for possible Ss)

(设计意图:对部分程度好的学生,可以作此要求,熟读后的背诵能加深记忆。)

Activity 10

1. Listen and repeat. Ss listen to Chant 1 once again, then follow to read, paying attention to the underlined words.

2. Brainstorm. Try to list as many as possible the words that contain pronunciation /i:/ and do orally practice.

Activity 11

1. Choose and fill. Ss fill in the blanks with the words from activity 8. (individual work)

2. Read and feedback within groups of 4 Ss. (group work)

3. Feedback from the whole class. Try to find out those ones who have the samilar taste on What do we eat?

(设计意图:让学生在熟练掌握读音的基础上学会对比、归纳。)

Step III  Practice on Vowels: /i/

Chant 2  Silly Billy

Activity 12

1. Listen and write.(Ss’ individual work)

2. The teacher checks the answers.

3. Read and practise. Ss read aloud the 6 words and then try to tell which word the teacher is pronouncing.(Pair work is also possible)

Activiity 13

1. Listen to a chant. (individual work)

2. Find and underline. Ss try to find out those words which contain the pronunciation /i/ in this chant, and underline them.

*3. Read and recite. Ss read aloud the chant and try to recite it in 1 minute.( only for possible Ss)

(设计意图同上:对部分程度好的学生,可以作此要求,熟读后的背诵能加深记忆。)

Activity 14

1. Listen and repeat. Ss listen to Chant 2 once again, then follow to read, paying attention to the underlined words.

2. Brainstorm. Try to list as many as possible the words that contain pronunciation /i/ and do orally practice.

Activity 15

Read and find. The whole class try to read or recite (if possible) chant 2 together, and then try to find one word that contains pronunciation /i:/ (speaks)

Step IV  Consolidation practice

Try to recite Chant 1 and Chant 2 after the class, paying attention to the difference between /i:/ and /i/.
