Unit 6 what’s your job?

(第三课时 教学设计

一、教材分析

1.教学内容

本课时系教材《英语1》(基础模块 高教版)第一单元的第三课时,包括language in use部分,具体内容为:全面收集,巩固及运用职业相关词汇。

2.教学重点、难点

教学重点

     职业相关词汇。

教学难点

     职业相关词汇并根据,身体语言来猜测职业名称。

二、教学目标

1.       知识目标

收集职业相关词汇

⑵根据相关信息猜测,运用职业相关词汇。

(3)询问职业的句型。

2.       能力目标

(1)    能根据相关信息运用职业相关词汇。

3.       情感目标

让学生了解不同职业的特点。

三、教学步骤

Step 1 Lead-in

1.       Greeting.

2.       Revision

1)      Talk about the future jobs with the students. Ask them: “what kind of job do you want in the future?” Write down the names of different jobs on the blackboard. Have the students read the words after the teacher.

2)      Talk about the work places of different jobs. Ask them: “Where does a chef/shop assistant/teacher…work?” Write down the work places on the blackboard. Have the students read the words after the teacher.

       (设计意图:让学生复习巩固上一节课中所学的相关知识,并为下一步的运用做好准备。)

 

Step2 Language in use

1.       Practice

Deal with activity 14. Show them a picture of a hotel and talk about the question: “What kind of jobs can a hotel provide?” Possible answers are the following:

 chef, manager, typist, driver, cleaner, secretary,

Write down names of jobs related to the hotels that the students can think of.

  (设计意图:通过这一活动帮助学生通过提示全面搜索自己学过的表达职业的词汇,可

以充分调动学生的思维为下一比赛活动做好准备。)

2.       Practice

1)      Show them pictures of different work places and see if they can recognize. (Pictures of a hospital, a school, or a department store can be presented to the students.)

2)      Divide the students into groups of eight.

3)      Have them work in groups and write down words related to the different work places as many as possible.

4)      Have a check with the students as a whole. See which group writes down the most words. Give some comments on their performance. Tell them that it is a good way to collect, revise and recite words.

(设计意图:通过小组比赛可以培养学生的合作意识,并且可以激发学生的思维能力。同

时通过这一活动可以对学生记忆,复习单词进行学法指导。培养学生良好的英语学习

习惯,促进学生的英语学习。)

3.       Practice

Play a game with the students.

The teacher say two or three words related to a job and have the students guess what jobs they are. The examples are the following:

1)      hotel, computer, keyboard--------- typist

2)      red, fire, save---------- fireman

3)      delicious, food, white hats-------- chef

4)      take care, baby, kind---------- babysitter

5)      crops, hard work--------- farmer

6)      white, hospital, Nightingale-------- nurse

7)      classroom, student, garden--------- teacher

8)      restaurant, menu, serve-------- waiter

(设计意图:让学生通过这个活动了解不同职业的特点,为下面的表演活动做准备。)

4.       Practice

Deal with activity 17.

Prepare pieces of paper on which names of jobs are written. Divide the students into two groups and have a competition. Each group is supposed to have a member come to the front, choose a piece of paper and act out a job with proper gestures; the other group can guess what kind of job it is. If they can give the correct answer, they can get one point.

  (设计意图:通过游戏巩固学生医学的知识,能提高学生的英语学习兴趣,并且能有效地

巩固学生所学的知识。)

5.       Practice

1)      Deal with activity 15. Have the students fill in the blanks according to the pictures. Have a check with the students as a whole.

2)      Deal with activity 16. Have the students read the sentences in the box and tick those that can be used to ask for somebody’s job.

Read through the sentence with the students. Have them compare the sentences: “What do you do?”; “What does he do?” Explain “do” and “does” in the sentences. Make sure they can understand it.

3)      Have the students finish off the following exercises:

A. Fill in the blanks with do, does, BE

a.       What ______ your father do?

b.       What ______ Tom and Jack do?

c.       What _______ your parents’ jobs?

d.       What _______his brother do?

e.       What ______ her mother’s job?

        B. Complete the dialogues according to the answers.

          a. --______________________?

            --He is a teacher.

          b. --_______________________?

            --She is Mary.

          c. --______________________?

            --It is a book.

          d.--_______________________?

            --They are doctors.

       (设计意图:这一活动将本单元设计的询问职业的方式都列了出来,混入其他问题当中能考查学生对所学知识的掌握程度,并能就此加以总结。后面设计的小练习能进一步的对此加以巩固。)

 

  Step3 Production

1.       Have the students make their dialogues.

Say: “Suppose you meet your classmates at a party ten years later. Make a short dialogue with your partners.” A possible version may be as the following:

A: Hello, Jack!

B: Hello, Mary! Long time no see!

A: Yes. How are you?

B: I am very well. What about you?

A: I am fine, too. What do you do now?

B: Well, I work for a hotel. I am a manager. What about you?

A: I am a journalist.

B: It must be very interesting.

A: Yes, I love it.

Have some pairs to demonstrate their dialogues.

2.       Give the two or three minutes to recite the words and have a dictation.

   (设计意图:考查学生运用所学知识的能力,并检查学生对重点词汇的拼写掌握情况。)

 

Step4 Homework

  1) Recite the words of different jobs.
